What do you think about the future of eCommerce? What things are affecting positively and negatively to the future of eBusiness? In which areas there is most room for development?
1) The future seems highly perspective for eCommerce. As the Internet population grows every day, it would become the most important and the main kind (or type) of commerce.
It is very difficult to imagine that such famous giant ecommerce companies as eBay, Amazon and Google would become unpopular with times. Conversely, these companies are increasing the range of their services and products. Moreover, lots of interesting projects have to appear in the nearest future. Who knows, what services would be implemented during the next several years? The famous eCommerce web service "Kickstarter" is not only gaining more and more popularity with every day, but lets people to invest money into many other new interesting projects and ideas. It allows public to choose what they need and to allow developers to realise it.
Furthermore, eCommerce is replacing practicallly all usual types of commerce now. Who knows, may be in the future there such things as magazines and newspapers, paper advertisements would become extinct. Such technologies, as virtualization and augmented reality would create visual advertisements. Finally, there is a project nowadays, called Globooz. It is the world map which is devided into millions of square segments or clusters (about 500x500 metres). The Globooz company allows customer to buy any number of such clusters anywhere in the world (the cluster's price depends on the cluster location of course). Then the Globooz customer (the guy who has boight the cluster) becomes the promoter himself and offers the companies, markets, restaurants, services and so on (situated in the same location where his bought cluster is) to pay some money for advertising their goods and services on their (Globooz customer's) bought virtual clusters. Finally, the world interactive map occurs, which allows to browse easily practically everything. This new type of eCommerce may appear in the next several years.
2)
Positive affects:
Of course the main thing is the improvement of internet. And it's not just development, but really really fast development which implements "network" in our life.
Also the development of new technologies.
We need not to forget about customers desires, as the time goes and new technologies invented, they want to buy, sell something in easier way, not leaving their homes, flats, or wherever they live.
The companies which create new technologies and which compete each other trying to create most effective and most advanced technology.
Negetive affects:
Well, as the business "goes online", the "shop theves" go there too. Big problem is hackers, who hack sites(if it is trading goods), they want to steal your personal information etc. And... Banking. Where is good side, there's always "black side". Easy make business online, then do it in "oldway", but harder to protect it. When meet somebody like it was done earlyer, you could speak eye-to-eye, and the only way to steal information was eavesdropping. And that is true for many examples.
3) Firstly, still the Internet.
Social networks are great for this.
Ads in free applications for gadgets.
Virtual reality ads.
Some new projects, like Globooz, which is explained above.
Application stores like Steam and Mac App Store for more operating systems.
